How Your Mascara Lasts Longer Plus More Tips

  • Make your own stain remover.  8 ounce bottle of hydrogen peroxide plus 1/4 cup baking soda plus a drop or two (no more) dish soap.  Best if used within 15 minutes because of the chemical reaction. Don't try to store it because it will leak.  Treat stain and allow to dry naturally.  Repeat if necessary.

  • Do you wish there was an inexpensive way to take a small amount of fingernail polish remover with you.  Here it is.  Empty film canister or a pill bottle will work too.  Trim a pink foam hair roller to fit snug in your container of choice.  Drench the hair roller in the nail polish remover and insert into container.  You can cut a slit in the foam roller or just take it out and use it as necessary.  But I think you will find it easier just to stick your finger in.  Refill as necessary.

  • You know what else fingernail polish remover is good for?  Will clean a dry erase board, no problem.

  • There's a trick to making your tube of mascara last longer.  Sometimes you just need a little bit more. Adding saline solution or sterile water to it will give you that little bit more you need.

  • Do you like to burn incense for the aroma they produce.  Check this out.  Incense smoke contains a carcinogen called benzopyrene.  It is as hazardous to your health as second hand cigarette smoke. Next time you light up make sure it's in a well ventilated room.
