5 Simple Make-Up Tricks For Full Lips So Easy Works For Everyone

  1. Add some sugar to the cleanser you use on your face for a d-i-y lip scrub. Scrubbing lips in a circle pattern, not too hard, makes them smooth and stimulate puff.
  2. Choose glossy over matte every time when it comes to lip color.
  3. With a white, shimmery liner pencil outline just above the V of the cupid's bow. You will love the overflowing effect this gives to you lips.
  4. Line the length of the top lip line only with a nude pencil. This will make it disappear and give an appearance your lip goes on and on. And then fill in entire lips with the nude or a soft pink colored lip pencil.
  5. Lighter colors reflect light and creates depth. Darker shades define a border

D-I-Y body scrub is created by mixing 2 parts baby oil with 1 part sugar.

*Did you know taking B vitamins strengthens fingernails.*

D-I-Y dandruff rinse can be made by mixing 1 part mouthwash with 9 parts water.
Apply to scalp and leave on.

Not just a nail polish anymore.
  • It's a sealant to keep important information like directions from getting water damaged.
  • Prevents rust from forming when applied to the bottom rim of metal cans stored around water.
  • Mend a small tear in fabric screen. Even a small tear will give those pesky bugs a way in.
  • Here's a cute idea that deserves repeating. Seal envelopes for party invitations, use party color.
  • Chips or nicks easily disguised with the right color applied.
  • Clear polish will create a barrier between jewelry metal and skin

I recently discovered a web site that is a great resouce for jewelry makers.  You'll find free beading lessons, beading projects and beading tips.  They also have information on working with wire, as well as making hemp jewelry.  You aren't required to become a "member" to view information.   Bead Age  Check it out and let .me know what you found most useful.

How Much Gold Is In Your Jewelry

US karats     Percent of Gold     Europe Fineness
24                    100%                    1000
22                    95.83%                  958
18                    75%                       750
15                    62.50%                  625
14                    58.33%                  583
10                    41.67%                  417
9                      37.50%                  375

a carat is about 0.2 grams or about .007 ounces

"Sterling" Silver is .925 fine.  In the US we simply mark it "sterling".  Europe marks sterling silver with a lion or  a leopard.  The lion is the hallmark for Birmingham, England.  Items made of sterling get more beautiful as they are used or worn.  With use, tiny scratches known as patina develop, giving the silver a warm, soft look.  Only gold and platinum are more durable than silver, so do not be afraid to wear it.

950 or "plat" on light silvery metal is platinum

Troy Weight     24 grains = one pennyweight
                        20 pennyweights = one ounce
                        12 ounces = one pound

Q.What Type of Gold Chain Is It?

I was just going to make a post about gold jewelry and how it is marked.  Instead of getting right to it, I decided to read what some fellow bloggers were up to.  I clicked on "next blog" in my navigation bar.  There it was.  The article said it all.  No sense in wasting my time.  Go to Lucky Girl Trading and find the answer you're looking for when it comes to knowing the gold content in a gold chain.
Maybe I'll share some of the same kind of information on silver.

Jewelry Pendants and Adorable Scented Soaps

It might sound like an odd combination but the way Janice, at Designs by Machado, presents them is certainly not odd at all.  Her products and prices are presented in a refreshing straight-forward style all her own.  Vivid pictures of every item neatly displayed with a brief comment underneath.
I ordered this pendant from Janice recently and received it only 2 days later.  It arrived well intact and I could tell it had been prepared for shipping with TLC (tender-loving-care).
Included in my package was a very nice surprise.  It was a beautiful flower arrangement pin that I thought was quite charming and can't wait to wear.  Not so sure a free gift is always included in your order, but it was a nice surprise and it made me feel very special.
Thank You Janice!
Some new items have been added to her page and I've got my eye on this glass leaf pendant necklace.  It's only $2.00!  Unbelievable, don't you think?
And the soaps are quite charming too.  I was thinking what a great addition these would make for the gift baskets I make for friends & family.  Not too mention a welcome addition to the bathroom with their pleasing scents.
She's a sweet person and very easy to talk to.  You are invited to email her with any questions you might have and she promises to return a prompt reply.  Here's the link again.  Check it out.  I know you will be as delighted as I was to find elegance and charm in a world that does without.
