You'll want to print this list and keep it handy
- Dusting Spray - removes marker ink from glassware and tins.
- Rubbing Alcohol - removes glue residue from high gloss ceramics.
- Household Bleach - disinfects most surfaces, not recommended for wood.
- Furniture Polish - restores the look of old objects and dull finishes; great for ceramics, plastics and wood. Not recommended for glass because it will leave a greasy film.
- Damp Cloth dipped in baking soda - can remove ink or crayon marks from surfaces
- Cut a lemon, dip in salt and rub on brass or copper to clean surface; rinse completely.
- Hair Spray - removes marking ink from glass. Works well for removing glue residue left by tape and for removing ink from fabrics.
- Peanut Butter - removes tape residue. Rub a small amount on a surface and wipe away with a paper towel; repeat as necessary.
- Cider Vinegar - removes rust from pots and pans.
- Corn Starch - works well for dry-cleaning stuffed animals. Rub into pile and let stand overnight. The next day take animal outside and shake loose the cornstarch and then brush with stiff brush.
- Grease pencils are what most thrift stores are using to mark prices on items. Degreaser (in purple container) found in the automotive department will get that price off in a jiffy.
