Camping, fishing and going to the lake time is almost here. I enjoy camping, swimming and watching other folks fish.(from the bank or boat) Love, love, love the water. And I don't mind contributing my cooking or cleaning skills to a good fish fry. But, I will be needing someone else to catch (and fillet) the fish. One of the things I hate about fishing is baiting the hook with a worm or anything gross, stinky or slimy. Same goes for getting the dang thing reeled in and off the hook. Yuk! Here's a sampling of what people say they are using for bait and having good luck with it too.
- Play-doh - orange or pink works best rolled in a ball on your hook attracts salmon and trout
- WD-40 - spray on your lure to attract fish
- Alka-Seltzer - place in hollow tube jig, bubbles as it sinks attracting fish as it goes.
- Altoids - wonder how this stays on the hook or lure?
- Panty hose - Say what? yep, "they" say shred them up to make a lure.
- Skin-So-Soft - again spray on lure. "they" say anything to get rid of human scent.

Fish have a nose to smell human scent?
3 ideas to help get that campfire going for the fish fry.

- Doritos for kindling - burns long enough to fire up damp wood.
- Morton Salt - sprinkle on rock, put kindling around the rock, rub salt with second rock.
- Vaseline Petroleum Jelly - apply to a long stick, light it with a match.
