Enough Is Enough Already! What Am I Talking About?

Well, I'm not talking about politics.  There's plenty of that blowing about.  I'm talking makeup ladies and men, uh, yeah men too.  And there is nothing wrong with that!  (Seinfeld)

Overdoing your make-up can make you look overdone, not to mention wasting product that can cost a lot of money.  Let's face it ladies, the prices don't appear to be going down.  And let's not forget the skin problems that can happen because of it.  How about all that time we spend blending it, trying to make it look natural.

Makeup artists agree and you will too, with the following flawless foundation application that looks and feels great.  And will save you money and time.

Apply a dime size drop of foundation to the back of your hand.  Dip a damp makeup sponge in it, and dot it onto your cheeks, forehead and nose.  Blend it outward toward your jaw and hairline.  Finish by going over any imperfections, like zits, with a concealer.  That's really all you really need.

And what about those beauty rituals like washing, exfoliating, shaving, masking.  These can be overdone as well.  Not only do you overspend on product, but your skin will pay a price too.

Exfoliate once a week.  That should do the trick without irritating the skin.
Shave bikini line once or twice per week, depending on thickness of your hair.
Face masks require once a week if you're using a moisturizing one;  t
Twice if it's an oil-absorber.
Apply zit cream containing salicylic acid two to three times a day.
Zit cream containing benzoyl peroxide (more potent, potentially drying) aplied once per day.
Wash your face once per day if you're flaky.
Wash your face twice per day if you're oily.

When shampooing hair, use a quarter-size amount, applied to your crown, half-dollar size for long hair.  Focusing on the roots, where oil tends to build up, use your fingertips to work the lather toward the front of your scalp.  Behind your ears gets greasy, don't skip.  But you will want to skip the ends of your hair to avoid drying them out.  Shampoo will run through them when you rinse.
