Don't Be Afraid

     Go ahead and try the generic version of these products.  No matter what the name on the label, they all have the same chemical makeup.  Yep, that's right.  They're the same thing.  So of course you'll want to buy the cheapest which is usually the generic.

baking soda, cornstarch, molasses, honey, herbs, spices, flavorings and extracts, salt, sugar,

cooking oils (not olive), salt, sugar, lemon, lime, or orange juice, powdered milk and vinegar


What exactly does this all mean?

Use by :     product is not at peak freshness after this date.

Sell by:     last day the product can be sold in the store, product usable approx. a week after date

Expiration:     last day the product should be used.


Fresh Fruit

apples, cranberries, lemons, limes, oranges
Refrigerate unwashed, 2 weeks

apricots, nectarines, peaches, ears, plums, rhubarb
Refrigerate when ripe, 3-5 days

bananas, melons
Refrigerate when ripe, 2-3 days

berries, cherries, pineapples
Refrigerate unwashed, 1-2 days

grapefruit, mandarin oranges, tangerines
Refrigerate, 1-2 weeks

grapes
Refrigerate, 4-6 days

watermelon
Wrap exposed surface and refrigerate, 1 week
