Save Money By Making Your Own

Safe, all natural bath soak is easy to make and relaxes your tired sore muscles. Take 2 cups of Epsom salts and 2 cups of baking soda, mix together well and add 5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil or a combination of oils. This is optional but luxurious.

To make a homemade hair gel, dissolve 1 tsp. plain gelatin in warm water. Mix it very well, then keep it in the refrigerator in a small closed container. To use, smear it in your hair. It is pure protein and washes out easily.

I checked with an experienced pharmacist on the correct ratio/proportions necessary to make a nasal saline 0.9% isotonic solution. Use 250 ml (1 cup) of distilled water. To this, add 1/3 or 2.25 grams of non-iodized canning or pickling saltNote: some sites say anywhere from 1/4 to 1 tsp. The correct proportion to achieve 0.9% is exactly 1/3 teaspoon.  Store in a sealed/covered container for up to 5 days. Use the solution as close to body temperature as possible for better absorption.

Brunettes, want to enhance the color of your hair? Try this: Steep 1/4 cup coffee grounds in 3 cups hot water and let cool completely. Strain out the grounds and pour over clean, damp hair.

Make your own leave in conditioner. Use one part conditioner to 10 parts water and mix in a spray bottle.
To keep the unsightly 'rust rings' off your bath tub, put some clear nail polish on the bottom of your shaving cream container.  Or you can use the lids from the tops of a Pringles chips.  They are perfect for setting cans of shaving cream on in the shower.
When nail polish gets too thick to use, instead of throwing it away, pour nail polish remover in it. Pour a little at a time. Shake it good and if it's still too thick, add a little more. Do this until you can put on your nails.
Decorative pencil pouches with zippers and other compartments make for a great inexpensive makeup bag.
Lipstick that is a shade deeper than your lips works great as blush.  Dot some on your cheekbones and blend with fingertips for natural look.
The long, narrow plastic bag that newspapers are delivered in are great for holding shoes when traveling, so that the clothing in your suitcase doesn't get dirty.
