Homemade Hair Spray, Sniff Away Pounds, Smudge-Proof Lashes...More Helpful Beauty Tips That $ave Money Too

Peppermint can calm an upset stomach.  And it freshens your breath.  Peppermint as an essential oil will energize a tired mind.  It may also help you lose weight.  Aromas help tell your brain when you've eaten enough.  Tests have proven, by taking a whiff every time you feel hungry or tempted by food, you can lose up to 5 pounds per month.

Try this homemade all-natural blend for an alternative to chemical hair sprays.  Won't dry your hair out.     Chop up one lemon or orange.  Put it in a pot with 2 cups of water and boil with the lid off until half the liquid evaporates.  Then cool, strain the pits and pulp, place the mixture in a spray bottle and add one ounce of rubbing alcohol. It it's too sticky, just add water.  It will keep up to 2 weeks.  No refrigeration required.

If you like the smudge-proof lashes a waterproof mascara can give you, but not crazy about the drying effect.  Apply regular mascara first.  Use waterproof mascara as a topcoat.  It will help regular mascara stay put.

Dab on some lemon juice to erase "age spots".  Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent.

First remove any lipstick or lip balm by gently blotting with a tissue.  Then wet a plain black or green tea bag with warm (not hot) water and apply it to your lips for several minutes.  Blot your lips dry.
The acid in the tea tightens the skin and helps your lips retain moisture.  Refresh with fresh tea bags several times a day, if you'd like.  And be sure to reapply lip balm between treatments.
