When I am feeling stressed I get some therapy. It's not the traditional therapy but it works for me. I go to the nearest
thrift store and spend some time meandering thru the artifacts of days gone by. It relaxes me by taking my mind off whatever is stressing me at the time. I effortlessly focus on the items before me and nothing else. This is probably as close as I'll get to experiencing what some men experience while watching
TV.
I would love to hear where you go when life gets to be too much. Does thrift store therapy work for you?
That brings me to my "new to me" book I acquired during my thrift store visit. It cost only a dime and was first published in 1958. It's packed full with helpful hints. The author has a uniquely humorous writing style. All of the tips I have read so far should prove useful in today's world. For the next few posts I'm going to list some of the tips from this book along with
Peg Bracken's colorful comments.
I love the thrift stores!
