Handy Keyboard Shortcuts For Windows

These shortcuts will speed up your search time.  After some practice, they become second nature.
  • <Windows>-E     opens a new window
  • <Windows>         type the name to launch apps or open files
  • <Windows>-D     minimizes open windows and shows desktop
  • <Ctrl>-F              to find text on current page (very helpful)
These shortcuts come in handy when filling out forms:
  • <Tab>                 forward
  • <Shift>-<Tab>    backward
  • <Enter>               check boxes or radio buttons
  • Arrow Keys         for drop down menus
You'll wonder how you survived without them.
  • <Alt>-<Tab>      switch through open apps
  • <Ctrl>-<Tab>     switch through open tabs
  • <Alt>                  traditional menu appears at top
  • <Ctrl>-C             copy
  • <Ctrl>-V             paste
  • <Ctrl>-X             cut
  • <Ctrl>-W            close windows & browser tabs
  • <Ctrl>-Z              undo
  • <Ctrl>-S              save
I just used the "copy" shortcut above and it really did help.  If you don't know already, right clicking on your mouse will give you all kinds of options.
