Magnetizing Your Crystal

     For a crystal to work, it must be magnetized to your energies.  This aligns the crystal to your intent.  It helps focus upon precisely what you want your crystal to do and ensures that the crystal will carry out its task.  Dedicating a crystal greatly enhances the effectiveness of the crystal and ensures that good comes from its use.  Select a crystal that is in harmony with your purpose.  A crystal first needs to be cleansed (link to cleansing post) The next step is to dedicate it.

DEDICATION - Holding the crystal in the palm of your hand, picture it surrounded by white light.  (Hold it in candle-or sunlight if you find visualizing light difficult)  When light is shimmering all around the crystal, state firmly and clearly that the crystal is dedicated to the highest good and will be used in light and love.  Energy can be depleted if a crystal has been sitting in a store waiting for you.  You may like to leave your crystal in sunlight or moonlight to re-energize it before moving on to programing. 

PROGRAMING YOUR CRYSTAL - Before you program your crystal, spend a few minutes formulating your intent.  What exactly do you want this crystal to do?  Do you want love, prosperity, a new dress?  Do you want to be successful in a job interview?  Do you need healing?  Be specific.  Asking for love might bring you a dog who adores you rather than the man you were hoping for.  The words you use should be precise, exactly specifying your intent.  They work best in the present tense.  So, if it's love you are after, try something along the lines of "This crystal always attracts exactly the right man/woman for me: loving, passionate, committed, mutually supportive, creative, and fun."  Special requests should be included.  Keep it positive.  When programing crystals for scrying, be sure to ask that it will always speak true, with clarity. 
When you are ready, make sure you will not be disturbed.  You might like to burn a candle.  Sit quietly and hold the crystal in the palm of your hands.  Focus your eyes on the crystal and let yourself attune to its energy.  Be intotal harmony with the stone.  Let yourself be open to any intuitive guidance that may come through to you.  When you are ready, firmly and clearly state your intention several times to anchor it into the stone.  When you have finished, put the crytal down and take your attention away. 

USING YOUR CRYSTAL - Now that your crystal has been imbued with power, decide if you want to wear it around your neck or in your pocket, or to keep it in a special place.  You might like to make a time each day when you sit with your crystal.  Doing this at the same time every day will build up magical resonance.  Sit quietly with your crystal in your hands and let the energies flow into you.  For healing, place it on the appropriate part of your body and leave for 15 minutes or so.  Close your eyes and picture your intenttion actually happening-that dream man walking into the room, for example.  When you have finished, return the crystal to its place.

AFFIRMATIONS - Affirmations can magically change your life.  They are statements of intent phrased "in the now."  If you hold a Carnelian, Labradorite, or Delenite as you repeat your affirmation several times a day, you will soon notice a dramatic difference.
