Cheap and Easy

During my recent library trip, I brought home what turned out to be a very insightful book, "The Herbal Home Spa" by Greta Breedlove.  This book is packed with all kinds of useful information.  We all know how pricey skin care products can be.  This book shows how to make your own skincare products from herbs, essential oils and common stuff you probably already have at home.  Not only is this good for the environment and saves you money, she claims these treatments are better for your skin and produce better results than those pricey ones advertised on TV.  There are a few treatments I will be trying right away.  After you see how "cheap and easy" they really are, you might want to try them out yourself.  My flat, very fine, lifeless hair convinced me to try this one first.  I have tried a lot of different products, styling techniques and various hair styles with no results.  Could something so "cheap and easy" be the answer to my prayers?  Oh yeah, Greta said to rinse your hair in cool water for shine.  mmhh!  Worth a try and doesn't cost much.
Bouncy Hair Rinse
1 cup beer = 1 treatment
Pour the beer into a glass and allow it to go flat and get warm.
Shampoo and rinse hair as usual.  Pour the flat, warm beer on your hair and work it through.
Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
That's it.  We'll see.  I sure don't want to walk around smelling like a brewery though.
Puffy Eye Treatment
Spritz eyes with water.  Lying down, place cucumber slices on eyes for 5-10 minutes.
I think we have all heard this one before.  But what about this one?
Baggy Eye Treatment
Spritz eyes with water.  Lying down, place potato slices on eyes for at least 10 minutes.

Would love to hear your comments after trying them out.  Hopefully, we won't conclude Ms Breedlove must smoke way too much herb for medicinal purposes.  Just kidding!
