Light houseplants without electricity.
- Set plants on a tray of white pebbles.
- Position mirrors so they reflect light back on plants.
- Paint the shelf or wall near the plants with flat white paint.
- Cover folding screens with shiny Mylar or anything white
- Plant climbers like cucumbers next to a fence.
- Put attractive vegetables, like eggplant and peppers, in the front yard.
- Grow solid blocks of vegetables in small beds 3" wide for easy weeding.
- Cucumbers, peppers, herbs and lettuce thrive in containers on a porch, patio or apartment balcony.
- Put several inches of pebbles in a container that has holes for drainage; fill with potting soil...water daily in summer... liquid fertilizer once per week.
