Egg Dying Contest |
- Fresh eggs are rough and chalky while the old eggs are smooth and shiny.
- Eggs beat up fluffier if brought to room temperature first.
- When baking use medium to large sized eggs. X-large may cause cakes to fall when cooled.
- If egg sinks when immersed in cool, salted water it's fresh. If it rises to the surface. Toss it.
- A pinch of cornstarch added before beating an egg will make fluffier omelets.
- Easily remove shells from hard boiled eggs by quickly rinsing in cool water first.
- To make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream, then beat them up.
