Colognes typically last 1 to 4 hours on your skin.
Eeu de toilette & Eau de Parfum usually last from 4 to 6 hours.
Body lotion or cream lasts from 3 to 8 hours.
Perfume last the longest, from 5 to 8 hours.
- If you want scented body cream or lotion simply add a drop or spritz of your fragrance in with what you are applying. You can also take a small container of cream or lotion and add a few drops.
- Air, heat and light are the enemies of your fragrance.
- An unopened bottle will usually keep for 3 years provided it has been kept away from heat and light.
- Open fragrances have a 1 1/2 to 2 year shelf life.
- When the scent begins to smell of vinegar or it becomes darker, or sticky or greasy when applied, it's time to throw it away.
- Bathrooms are not the best place to keep your fragrances. Constant warm steam will cause the fragrance to break down faster.
- A better place to store your fragrances is in the refrigerator. This will extend the life of the fragrance. Plus it will feel awesome on a warm summer day when applied.
- If you spray too much on, just rub the area with a warm soapy washcloth.
- High altitudes will reduce the longevity as well as the potency of any fragrance.
- Fragrance does not last as long on dry skin as it does on oily skin.
- Some fragrances will smell a lot stronger on someone who eats a lot of spicy or high fat foods.

Now, let's talk about that dry skin...
- You only need a nickel size amount of body wash to clean the entire body. Do not use bar soap unless it is vegetable based.
- If your skin is "squeaky", that is a sure sign your skin has been stripped of oil and over/cleansed.
- Deodorant soaps are the most drying.
- Use lotion without alcohol in it. The alcohol allows skin to absorb quicker but it's heavily drying.
- Use hair conditioner to shave with. This will leave area silky smooth.
- 3 minutes after bathing the skin's pores will begin to close. So try to apply your moisturizer within that 3 minute window for better absorption.
- Make your own aroma/therapeutic blend to fight cellulite. 2 drops rosemary, 2 drops fennel essential oils to 1 tablespoon carrier oil like almond or sesame. Massage this mixture thoroughly into the affected areas every day after you bathe.
