
Patch a flower vase by using a crayon. Pick a shade that matches and color over the cracked area. The heat it with a hair dryer long enough to melt the wax (crayon) into the crack. Let it cool and then scrape off the excess. Waiting until the wax hardens guarantees it will be strong enough to hold water again.

If a china plate has a crack in it, place it in a pan, cover with milk and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 45 minutes. The milk will fill in the crack.
Casein, a protein in milk, is also an ingredient in glue. The boiling causes a chemical reaction that melds it back together perfectly. (For very fragile or valuable china it's probably best to see an expert.)
Hair conditioner applied with a
Q-Tip to the teeth of a stuck zipper should cause it to budge immediately.
Placing a dryer sheet in your pocket will keep the mosquitoes away.

Candles will last longer if you freeze them for at least 3 hours before you burn them.
Extend the life of batteries by storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Use a wet
cotton ball or Q-Tip to pick up the small shards of lass you can't see easily, a wet paper towel for larger area.
Sprinkle
cayenne pepper on your plants to keep squirrels away. This won't hurt your plants and the squirrels won't come near it.
A dry towel in the dryer with a load of just washed clothes will absorb a lot of excess moisture and your clothes will dry in a fraction of the time.

Sharpen scissors with aluminum foil. Fold foil over three times and cut with scissors. Each time you cut you will be removing rust and buildup and any rough places on the blades.

Use the foil to sharpen a knife too. Roll foil into a ball. Cut through it a few times.

If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Viola! It unseals easily.
