Monthly List For What's On Sale

Holiday items that don't sell are always clearance priced after the holiday is over.  I'm pretty sure everyone knows about that.  What I try to do is purchase items that are multi-functional.  Like, wrapping paper or gift bags, I never buy any with Santa on it. Look for solid colors or stripes or polka dotsWalgreens usually has a lot of leftover candy on clearance.  Keep it in the freezer if you're afraid it will spoil.  All the stores want to get rid of that merchandise so they can start tempting you with new merchandise they're are sure you will need for the next holiday.  But, what about the rest of the time of the year.  What about other items that aren't for a holiday but maybe just seasonal.  When do they go on sale.  Here's a list you might find useful.

January - stereos, TV's, video, computer, bicycles, toys, holiday decor, jewelry, watches, ceramics, china & other tableware, sheets & towels

February - coats, boots, scarves, sweaters, leather goods, luggage, snow skis & skates

March & April - large appliances (if you need to replace your air conditioner, do it now, prices will go up with the temperature)

May & June - cookware, carpeting, light fixtures, furniture & other indoor items

July - formal wear & jewelry, bathing suits & other summer time clothing

August - garden supplies, lawn furniture, summertime sporting goods

September - more summertime merchandise, ceiling fans, lawn care equipment, linens, cotton clothing

October - coats, sewing machines, power tools, vaccuum cleaners

November & December - big ticket items like used cars or boats, non-gift items such as furniture.
