Thrifty Makeup Tips

  1. Keep makeup pencils sharp for better application and also remove any bacteria from point.
  2. Dry hair before applying makeup.  The heat causes you to sweat and makeup to smudge.
  3. Try moistening your foundation with oil-free toner instead of water.  You'll get slip you want plus extra treatment.
  4. To revive powder makeup that has gotten a little "cakey" from skin oils, take a butter knife and gently scrape off top coating.  The powder underneath will be fresh and new.
  5. Don't remove entire plastic protection from face powders, poke holes in it and shake in lid.
  6. For dance proof eye shadow, wet shadow before applying.  Instead of water try eye drops to form a paste for smoother and longer lasting application.
  7. Wash makeup brushes once a month in antibacterial soap.  After washing put bristles in original shape and let air dry.  Brushes can harbor bacteria and excess makeup.
  8. Lip color can work for blush or eye shadow if blended correctly.
  9. Let mascara dry before adding another coat.
  10. Near-sighted glasses make eyes look smaller.  Far-sighted glasses make eyes look bigger.
