16 Tips To Help You Lose Weight

It's a new year and a new you! And this time you are going keep that resolution. You are going to lose weight. You are going to exercise and watch what you eat. You're even thinking it might be time to try one of those cleanse programs you have heard about, aren't you.


What ever you decide, know that I am behind you all the way. You can do it!

That's why I compiled a list of tips for you. I think they can help you lose all the weight you desire. Now get going. You have only a few months before bikini time is here.
  1. Before eating anything, ask yourself if you really want it. Mindless snacking is never good when you are trying to lose weight. You don't have to accept everything offered at the office. Don't give in to peer pressure.
  2. Keeping a food diary is a good idea. Jot down what you are eating and when. Add details  about how you are feeling, who's around, what's the weather like. After a while you might see a pattern. Now that you are aware of it, you can change it.
  3. Make a time schedule for meals and snacks. Getting organized will help you stay in control. Adding your exercise routines to the schedule is a good idea, too. I like to add goals to my schedule, so I won't miss rewarding myself. This is a good place to keep track of total calories consumed.
  4. Speaking of rewards. Find some non-food ways to reward yourself. It could be new clothes once you reach a certain size. 
  5. Come up with a way to not pass through the kitchen as much at home.
  6. If you don't have one already, buy a scale. Measure portion sizes.
  7. Drink at least one full glass of water before eating. You will get full faster and it helps with digestion. For variety add a slice of lemon, lime or orange. For a treat buy mineral water.
  8. Use a smaller plate to make small portions appear larger. 
  9. Keep lower-calorie snacks, like fruits and veggies, in the most visible places in the refrigerator and easily accessible on the counter.
  10. Cook with a toothpick in your mouth so you are not tempted to nibble.
  11. Chew each bite completely before swallowing. If needed try to reach a certain number of chews per bite.
  12. Throw leftover food away, give it away or freeze it immediately.
  13. Decide what you plan to order before entering a restaurant and stick to it. No doggie bags!
  14. Stay away from ready-to-eat foods. If you have to prepare your food before you can eat it, it becomes more of a chore.
  15. Eat foods that are high in fiber. More chewing is required. You'll feel fuller. This will also give you that cleanse you have been thinking about.
  16. Clear the table after meals. This will eliminate the temptation to continue snacking. 


Be mindful and stay in control when choosing what to eat.
